THE HOAXThe Space Race was a highly contested period of the 20th century between the United States and Soviet Union. The overarching goal was to see which country could get the first man to step foot onto the moon. Ultimately, the United States succeeded, sending the country's pride to astronomical heights. Although the moon landing is a staple in American History, the idea that the moon landing was a hoax is a very prevalent idea that has gained traction since the moon landing occurred.

WHY IT LEFT FOOTPRINTSThe psychology behind why people believe in these sort of conspiracy theories is a very important topic to talk about in regards to why people still think that the moon landing was a hoax. There are many different studies that have shown correlation between certain demographics and whether or not they actually believe in these type of theories. Along with these studies, there are many other factors that contribute to the psychology behind these theories such as mistrust, and the technological impacts.

STARS OF THE STORY
Although there were many people involved, there are 4 noteworthy profiles that are highlighted in this website. NASA, Buzz Aldrin & Neil Armstrong, John F. Kennedy, and Bill Kaysing are the profiles that are seen as most important. Each individual profile goes in-depth as to why they are important to the moon landing hoax.

I am currently a freshman at Butler University. For this project, we researched and developed theories about the Moon Landing conspiracy theory. My main contribution to this project was researching the history of the context of this event as well as research for the history surrounding the Hoax. My favorite part about this project is that I was also able to incorporate my creative skillsets in taking leadership in designing the layout and organization of this website. I really resonate with the importance of visual storytelling which is very important when telling the story of the Moon Landing. I hope that the photos, videos, and other visuals throughout this website enhance the experience and give a better grasp into this piece of history. In the future, I am looking to use my education and creative skillset to work in the marketing, advertising, and content creating world.

As a first- year at Butler University, this project has proved to be the most impactful. Not only have I learned about such an important piece of history, but I have also been able to use creative thinking skills. I am an International Business major, but love marketing and this website really played to that skill set. At Butler, I am studying German as well, and my dream job would be to work for a German Car Company and even live in Germany for a little while. My contribution to this project was the profiles page where I learned more about NASA as a whole and Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong. Like many children, I wanted to travel to space when I was grown up. Although my career path has shifted, after learning about these astronauts and all that they have accomplished within their lives, I know that the stars and my dreams are well within reach and that any job is possible when I set my mind to it.

Wrapping up my first-year at Butler University with this project has been very enjoyable. I am a Healthcare and Business Major on the Pre-Med track, so much of my freshman year experience has been spent in labs and science lectures. Although I love the labs and lectures very much, this project has really pushed me in a way that I have not been pushed during this year. Gathering and presenting research in a creative way like this website is something that has been very challenging to me. Over the course of this project, I have come to love it and it has given me another skill to put into my back pocket. Even though we worked together as a group on this whole web page, my main contributions were the Theories page, the JFK profile, and the content on the Home page. As I continue to pursue a career in the healthcare world, I will remember that this project serves as a reminder to never get too comfortable with what I am doing and don't be afraid to try something that I never dreamed of doing.

I am happy to have ended my first-year of college doing this project. I am a Health Sciences major on the Pre-Med track, however I have a big passion for art and design. This project has allowed me to combine my love for research and design. It has opened my eyes to a whole new world of art that I had never dabbled in. Though my career goal is to help and treat patients, I have other creative aspirations that I hope to fulfill. I enjoy volunteering and in the past I have worked with a few organizations to promote events by creating posters, logos, and magazines. I am happy to have had the opportunity to help create a website so that I can take this skill and help the organizations I am involved with. We worked on this project together and several pages were a mix and match of everyone's talents. However, my major contributions were the design and research behind both the Why page and the Hoax History page.
